Description:

Colorado’s Front Range is beautiful through and through, but something you learn from living on the Front Range is the further you step away from the mountains, the more mountains you can see! Located on five and a half acres in Platteville, Colorado, this single-family residence has 360 degree views of the state’s golden plains and mountain views from Longs Peak up in Rocky Mountain National Park to Pikes Peak down in Colorado Springs.

Given the agricultural site and proximity to expansive farms, the client and F9 Productions’ design team agreed that this would be the perfect setting for a modern-farmhouse-inspired design, which is dominated by symmetry, steep roof slopes, and a recognizable white and black color palette. Consequently, the building’s form and finishes look to the future while also giving an endearing nod to agrarian design’s past.

Coming in at 6,500 SF this home starts out with an expansive lower level, including a walk-out basement with a large rec room, wet room, and the space for three future bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry room. The walkout leads to a covered patio and large flat backyard for summer activities.

On the main floor, the large covered front patio on the east welcomes visitors into the great room and main living area of the house. With tall, vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows, the great room is a bright and vibrant space for its residents. From the great room, residents and guests can walk out to a large, covered patio with a fireplace that has elevated and unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains to the west. On either side of the great room are two wings. The wing to the north contains three bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the wing to the south contains a large master suite, laundry room, powder room, mud room, and a three-car garage.

From the mud room, you can travel up to the bonus space above the three-car garage, which provides additional views to the west and to the south. Not a bad place to catch a sunset anytime of year.
