Nestled within the Village at the Peaks shopping center, Fire and Ice Wellness brings high-end recovery and rejuvenation to the heart of Longmont. Surrounded by Whole Foods, boutique fitness studios, and a thriving wellness community, this 1,298-square-foot spa transforms a simple retail shell into a sleek, high-performance sanctuary for modern healing.

Offering everything from cryotherapy and red-light therapy to hyperbaric oxygen sessions, Fire and Ice is proof that even a compact footprint can deliver an expansive experience.

The Idea

The challenge was clear: how do you fit an ambitious program of cutting-edge therapies into just over 1,200 square feet without compromising comfort, privacy, or flow?

F9 Productions approached the task like a spatial puzzle, choreographing zones for treatment, circulation, and rest with surgical precision. Every wall, vent, and lighting fixture was planned to support both technical performance and sensory calm.

The result is a design that feels effortless, a space that unfolds naturally from entry to exit, balancing utility with serenity.

Design and Craft

Upon entry, guests are greeted by a custom feature wall, a sculptural mountain silhouette glowing in red and blue LED light. It’s a visual embodiment of the brand’s name and philosophy: contrast, balance, renewal.

The reception and lounge area blends warm textures with cool tones, creating a place where clients can decompress before or after their treatments. Cleverly integrated storage and built-in cabinetry ensure every inch of space works as hard as the therapies themselves.

Beyond the lobby, a central corridor leads to specialized rooms for cryotherapy, red-light therapy, a salt booth, a hyperbaric chamber, and a prepped future float suite. Each room is acoustically insulated, ventilated, and detailed to suit the technical demands of its specific equipment.

At the far end lies the Fire and Ice Room, the project’s crown jewel. This private suite includes a five-person sauna, cold plunge tub, and ADA-accessible shower, offering the full hot-and-cold recovery experience.

Systems and Performance

Though compact, the project’s systems rival those of large-scale wellness centers.

  • Construction Type: Type V-B Commercial
  • Energy Compliance: Built to 2021 energy codes with all systems Energy Star certified
  • Mechanical Design: Upgraded ventilation, moisture-resistant finishes, and high-performance lighting customized for each treatment zone

These features ensure comfort, durability, and operational efficiency, critical for a space used daily by athletes, health enthusiasts, and first-time wellness clients alike.

The Result

Fire and Ice Wellness embodies precision within constraint, a perfect example of F9 Productions’ ability to deliver impact through intelligent design.

Every detail, from the ambient glow of the feature wall to the acoustics of the treatment rooms, was crafted to create an environment that feels luxurious without excess.

It’s a space where health meets design, where every square inch has purpose, and where recovery becomes an experience not just a service.
