Located in the Raspberry Hill Business Park just east of I-25 in Frederick, Can Am Logistics combines office, tenant, vehicle storage, and maintenance functions within a compact two-story commercial building. The west half of the building provides two separate office spaces available for lease, while the east half houses Can Am Logistics’ offices and vehicle maintenance garage. Outdoor vehicle storage was also an important part of the program.
The butterfly roof became the defining architectural move. Rather than designing a conventional commercial box, the two opposing roof forms rise toward the outside edges of the building, giving the project a much stronger silhouette from the street. The roof geometry carries around the building, creating deep overhangs and allowing the elevations to change depending on where the building is viewed from.
A simple exterior material palette reinforces those forms. Dark corrugated metal siding anchors the taller volumes, warmer board-and-batten metal siding breaks down the remaining mass, and light brick creates a distinct center section at the main entrance. Large black-framed windows are carefully placed throughout the elevations, giving the building a clean industrial character while bringing substantial natural light into both floors.
Those windows are especially important on the west side. The building opens toward views of the Rocky Mountains, turning what could have been fairly typical office space into bright work areas with long views across the Front Range. The second-floor offices take advantage of the additional height created by the roof forms, while large corner windows make several of the offices feel even more open.

The maintenance side of the building was designed with the same attention as the offices. A tall garage bay gives Can Am Logistics room to service vehicles indoors, with high windows bringing daylight deep into the space without sacrificing usable wall area. The garage connects directly back into the office portion of the building, allowing the administrative and operational sides of the company to function together.
Inside the office spaces, the architecture stays intentionally straightforward. Polished concrete floors, exposed steel columns, large expanses of glass, linear lighting, and corrugated ceiling panels continue the industrial language of the exterior. The result is a building that feels appropriate for an automotive and logistics business without becoming purely utilitarian.
Can Am Logistics is ultimately a working commercial building that needed to do several things at once: provide a headquarters for the owner, accommodate vehicle maintenance and storage, create additional leasable office space, and still present a strong face to the surrounding business park. The architecture brings those different uses together under one recognizable roofline and gives a relatively small commercial project an identity of its own.
